Audible is the official app of Audible, Amazon's audiobook platform. There are hundreds of thousands of books, podcasts, and original content in audio format. The book section of Audible offers content of all genres, including fiction, biography, history, novels, business, self-help, and more. As for the podcasts, you can find current affairs, comedy, politics, history, science, entertainment, and much more. Much of this content is exclusive to Audible, so you won't find it elsewhere.

To access all of Audible's content freely, you must subscribe to the platform's paid version. Payments are monthly, and you can enjoy a 30-day free trial. If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, the free trial is 90 days. If you choose not to subscribe, try the app and listen to five-minute content samples.

Discover hundreds of thousands of audiobooks

Audible has a library section where anything you have started listening to is stored. Simply tap each one to continue listening from where you left off, even using another device. If you want to find new content, go to the Discover section, where you'll find the most listened-to, new releases, trending content, and much more.

Customize playback

When playing content, there is a wide variety of options to adjust the playback to your liking. You can jump forward or backward 30 seconds or pause and continue playback. You can also change the speed in increments of 0.05, starting from 0.5x up to 3.5x. Or, if you prefer, you can quickly choose speeds of 0.7x, 1x, 1.2x, 1.5x, 1.7x, and 2.0x, which are the most commonly selected. Similarly, you can activate Car Mode, which makes the screen larger so you can pause more easily if you're driving. Audible has Alexa built-in, so you can easily control your audiobook playback.

Listen to audiobooks to go to sleep

Finally, you can set a timer to stop content playing, perfect if you want to listen to audiobooks before sleep. You can choose between 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or have it stop as soon as the chapter ends. If you don't like the default options, you can choose the exact time you want the playback to stop, anywhere from 1 minute to 24 hours.

Download audiobooks and listen offline

Audible is also perfect for traveling since you can download content to listen to offline. You can also download all the information in the book's file, including the cover, writer, narrator, synopsis, related content, similar authors, and opinions of users who have already listened to the book.
